That's What She Said: The Ladies

That's What She Said -
Making the World Smile...
One Dyke At A Time

That’s What She Said is a mad musical bouquet of imaginative, comic songs about lesbians. Amy Turner, vocalist, and Kathryn Lounsbery, pianist and vocalist, effortlessly take their audiences on a whirlwind tour through music: jazz, rap, folk, disco, light opera, and power ballads, to name a few, are presented on an eco-friendly silver platter. Their musical versatility and impeccable comic timing have quickly garnered rave reviews and a world-wide following. Recently named "Best Comedy Show to Make You Pee Your Pants" by Jane and Jane Magazine, Amy and Kathryn have taken their show across the country, to Mexico, and are recent darlings of the Film Festival circuit with their hard-core rap homage to the oldest Lesbian joke: U-Haul: The Music Video."U-Haul: The Music Video" premiered at San Francisco's Frameline Festival.

Amy Turner - Vocals

Picture this: Encino, 1980… a young girl in a crushed velvet suit is singing along to the cult album Liza with a Z. Flash forward to the present and you have the same girl before you - only slightly older. Amy has been singing her entire life and has been a performer in Second City Sings, You the Musical, and Wide Awake. She was also the queer culture correspondent on the LTN network. Amy is an artist in a variety of mediums: her artwork can be seen HERE.

Kathryn Lounsbery - Piano, Vocals

While right-handed, she uses both hands to play the piano. She hails from the great state of Wisconsin, and started piano lessons at the age of five. She continued long enough to receive a Master’s degree from USC. Dismayed that she wasn’t actually given the title “Master Kathryn,” she moved to other ventures, including gigging pianist, piano editor, published piano arranger, vocal coach, and improv comedy pianist. It was the latter that lead her to meet Amy, whom she saw performing at Second City in the summer of 2006. The rest is HerStory.
